The people whose livelihoods depend on the alcohol industry welcome the decision by SA’s Government to lift the ban on alcohol sales.
The support that South Africans have shown us in supporting this campaign has helped spread awareness and has contributed to the protection of the 1 million+ livelihoods that depend on our industry. Your support has ensured that more employees, tavern owners, manufacturers, farmers and factory workers, are able to fend off the devastating economic impact of Covid-19 on livelihoods across the country. Thank you South Africa.
We must continue to work together, to act responsibly, and ensure that we do not face the risk of this vital industry being harmed any further. We must now rebuild ourselves as a stronger industry.
This is a job for all South Africans. Please share your ideas, pledge your commitment and share your stories. Together we can build a stronger industry and a more responsible drinking culture in South Africa.
With our initiatives we have achieved
Livelihoods at risk
Jobs lost due to the suspension of alcohol sales in SA in the last ban
Taverns, bars, restaurants and shops will be forced to shut their doors by the end of July
People rely on Taverns for their livelihood
Of Taverns are owned by women

We are
joining efforts
to move South Africa forward. With the entire industry we seek solutions to overcome this together.
